Cardii’s mission to improve Gift Cards isn’t limited to just the experience of giving and receiving. We’re making a positive impact on the environment as well.

Traditional gift cards are made from PVC, a type of plastic that is typically not recycled or even accepted by recycling systems. This means they end up in the garbage, landfills and ultimately our oceans.

According to the International Card Manufacturers Association, 10 billion new gift cards are created every year. That’s over 75 million pounds of PVC that is discarded annually! That’s a staggering amount of trash that takes 500 years to break down.
